Rings

I ordered Eric's ring last night.  We tried to get one from a jewelry store in Mundelein, but they didn't have the one he wanted in the right color.  He chose white tungsten carbide. 

Tungsten carbide is heavy like platinum (he wants to know he is wearing it) but cheaper and scratch resistant.  Only one company actually makes white tungsten carbide, so it wasn't too difficult to find the one he wanted.  Regular tungsten is grey or black, but they recently came out with white, which looks like platinum or white gold and will match my rings better.  This company has the process to make white tungsten carbide under patent. 

Another fun fact- tungsten cannot be cut off of your finger- it has to be shattered and if you drop the ring on ceramic tile it can shatter (i.e. there will be no ceramic tile in our home).

One more thing to check off the list!  Yay!
